BOE Technology expands its horizon to Indian markets

Recently, BOE Technology Group, China’s biggest provider of display panel technology announced its plan to aggressively expand, and capture the Indian markets in areas of TVs, mobile phones, and Internet of Things (IoT). The TV and mobile consumer markets, coupled with IoT are growing at a tremendous rate within the country, and BOE wants to make most of this opportunity. Guo Chao, General Manager, Overseas Sales and Marketing, BOE Technology Group, comments “We offer technological innovation and development in the form of exciting products and services to Indian customers through our Indian subsidiary, BOE India.”

The organization, headquartered at Beijing delivers a wide array of products and services, for markets such as mobile phones, tablets, notebooks, monitors, TVs, vehicle displays, digital information displays, healthcare, finance, and wearable devices. The organization spans its network over the Europe, America, and Asia markets. BOE India is already offering innovative products for display, intelligent systems, and health services. “We are also establishing a people-focused healthcare service and Big Data system, which will make healthcare services more smart and efficient,” remarks Chao.

Display device, smart systems, and healthcare service constitute the three core businesses BOE deals with. BOE has achieved significant milestones globally in terms market sales. The ‘first global launch’ products from the company exceeded 40 percent, while its yearly new-patent applications amounted to 7570 in 2016. The company has over 50,00 usable patents already.

BOE leads the market share of panels for mobile phones, notebooks and tablets, and January 2017 saw the firm ship more large LCD panels than any other global provider. Furthermore, BOE is ranked second among the top 10 innovators in the semiconductor field.

Through this move, BOE plans to introduce offerings such as TDDI, Ultra-narrow border (COF), OLED display, LTPS display, transparent display, etc. to the Indian markets. The firm is also ready with its 98-inch ultra-large size 4K TV panel, to be launched in India. The firm will continue to improve the TFT-LCD, AMOLED, and the next-generation display technologies.
