Smartron strategically collaborates with Volta Motors; forwards investment to the automotive startup as a part of the partnership

Smartron plans to collaborate with Volta Motors

Based out of Chennai, Volta Motors is an automotive startup company who design and develop sustainable electric vehicles for both Indian and global markets. Recent announcement states that the firm will receive investment from Smartron, India’s global IoT brand. As an extension to this deal, the automotive startup will be rechristened as Tron Motors, a Smartron company.

The two startups shall collaborate to bolster their aspirations of building an Indian brand into a global product. Mr. Anoop Nishanth, CEO, Volta Motors, speaks “To be part of Smartron’s journey, is a remarkable moment for us. With Tron Motors, our aim is to expand our ecosystem, while being environment friendly as well as high on quotient.” Through this partnership, Smartron will be able to further develop and expand its IoT-enabled portfolio to address opportunities within the country and abroad.

The support from Smartron will help Volta to accelerate the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of their vehicles. The automotive startup also stresses on its plan to launch a range of IoT-enabled electric vehicles, which will be designed, engineered, and manufactured within the country. These initiatives will transform lifestyle segment of mobility by being sustainable resources, and promoting healthy living. Volta is credited to design and development of India’s first cross-over electric bike, called ‘VOLTA ZAP.’

The investment can be additionally counted as a segment of Smartron’s plan to build a better product ecosystem leveraging the potential of its innovative and unique AI-powered TronX IoT platform. This recent partnership with Volta illustrates Smartron’s business strategy to build a strong product ecosystem using the TronX platform, across IoT verticals such as smart home, personalized health, smart energy, intelligent vehicles, smart farming, and infrastructure. This will help the firm deliver next-generation of smart devices, sensors, services and care to consumer, enterprise, industrial and infrastructure markets. “Smartron’s IoT-based TronX platform will help run the electric eco-friendly bikes. TronX will be a significant apart of our smart products range,” comments Mr. Mahesh Lingareddy, Founder and Chairman, Smartron India Pvt Ltd said.
